Membership
Membership of the East Leeds History
and Archaeology Society is open to everyone with an interest in the heritage
of our communities.
Aims and Objectives
The Society was formed in 1997 and
exists to research and promote knowledge of the past through lectures
and displays. In addition, the Society also runs the East Leeds Heritage
Centre at Cross Gates Library, where regular displays and exhibitions
take place.
The East Leeds Heritage Centre
Structure
The Society is run by a President
and Committee, elected every three years at a General Meeting, which all
members are allowed to attend and vote at. In addition, all members are
eligible to stand for election to the Committee and to serve on any sub-committee
that takes their interest.
